Authentic Greek mousaka with ILIADA Kalamata PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Ingredients:
  • 3-4 eggplants
  • 3-4 potatoes
  • 100 ml ILIADA Kalamata PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt & fresh pepper
For the ground meat:
  • 700g. ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 tbs tomato paste
  • 1 glass of red wine
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 100 ml ILIADA Kalamata PDO Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 3 all spice corns
  • Salt & fresh pepper
For the bechamel sauce:
  • 1l milk 3,5%
  • 150g butter
  • 170g all-purpose flour
  • 2 pinches nutmeg
  • 100g gruyere, grated
